Zoo de Granby

Have you ever been to one of those sales where you stuff everything you can into one bag and get 20% off? I am definitely in “stuffing” mode and here’s why . . . my baby is almost three! I guess I probably shouldn’t call Anna my "baby" anymore. She’s not even a toddler anymore. Her steps are long since strong and sure. Nope, she’s a regular person with a regular personality to match.

Then there’s the other side of the spectrum. High school had always seemed so far away, but now we are tracing its edges with curious clarity on the horizon of Michael’s timeline. And we know what can happen in high school! (smile)

So what does this have to do with going to the zoo? There are external realities to be sure. The Canadian border may be a little more difficult to cross in a few months. Passports times eight can be a bit expensive. The nice fall weather won’t last much longer. The zoo offers half price admission the first weekend of October. But the real reason to go to the zoo right now is because I’ll never have this day back again. I want to stuff my bag full of all the sweet memories I can.

The Pumpkin Harvest

Well, the summer has flown by and we are deep into our fall routine. We have been blessed with an absolutely beautiful September. The weather is cool at night, the apples are ripe and the leaves are beginning to march on their annual pigment parade. Vermont has always provided us with an autumnal feast for the eyes, our little prize before the long winter ahead. These pictures were taken during a jaunt to the apple orchard. Anna's favorite attraction was the hay ride! We wish you could all come over for some cider and donuts!
