The Faces of Baseball

Take me out to the ball game. Then take me to the Tuesday practice. And the Thursday practice. Then take me to the “blue potty” where Anna inevitably needs to make a stop. Then take me back home. Wash the laundry with me. Bleach the socks. Bang the dirt out of the cleats.

Consider with me those burning baseball questions. Is the pitch a curve ball, a slider, a change-up or a four-seam fastball? Is the batter a rightie, a leftie or a switch hitter? Will my son do any fielding or just pick a bouquet of dandelions?

Ah, but when I see these sweet faces sticking our from under the visors of their baseball caps, and watch as they hit a grounder down the third base line, it makes all those trips to the ball field, and all those loads of laundry, more than worth it!
